Why Choose Us
What makes Amanat Law
different from the outset.
Estate law does not have to feel overwhelming. We have built our practice around making it calm, clear, and manageable — however straightforward or complex your situation may be.

Six reasons families come to us
Over fifteen years of practice
Experience in Sarawak estate law since 2009, with hundreds of wills drafted and probate matters concluded.
Plain, honest language
Every stage explained in everyday terms. You will always know what is happening and why before giving your agreement.
Fees stated upfront
You receive a written fee estimate before any work begins. There are no additional charges without prior discussion.
No pressure to hurry
We do not push you toward any decision. You can take time to reflect, ask questions, and return when you are ready.
The same solicitor throughout
The person you first speak with handles your matter start to finish. No handoffs, no confusion about who knows your situation.
Rooted in Sarawak
Local knowledge of Kuching High Court procedures and familiarity with regional estate administration realities.
Expertise
Solicitors who know inheritance law well
Our team has focused exclusively on estate-related matters for the duration of the practice. That means the solicitor advising you has spent years working through the details of wills, probate applications, and estate distribution — not picking up such matters occasionally alongside other work.
- Members in good standing of the Malaysian Bar
- Familiarity with both civil and Islamic succession considerations in Sarawak
- Extensive experience in Kuching High Court filings
Specialist focus
Unlike general practices where estate work is one of many areas, our solicitors have built their careers around inheritance and estate law. This depth of focus means fewer errors, more thorough advice, and a team that understands the nuances specific to Sarawak.
Service shaped around you
Some clients prefer to deal with everything in one appointment. Others need time — to think, to speak with family, to return with more questions. We accommodate both, and everything in between. Our office hours are structured to include Saturday morning appointments for those who cannot attend during the working week.
Service
At your pace, on your terms
Estate matters often come at already difficult times. Our approach is to make the legal part feel manageable — not something that adds to an already full plate.
- Saturday morning appointments available
- Updates by phone or in writing, whichever you prefer
- No obligation from an initial conversation
Value
Fair, fixed fees explained in full
We set our fees to be fair for the service provided. Will drafting begins at RM 195, estate planning counsel from RM 410, and probate support from RM 620. These are not introductory prices — they reflect the typical cost of straightforward matters, with any complexity discussed openly before it affects the fee.
- Written fee estimate before work begins
- No surprise charges after the fact
- Clear discussion of any additional disbursements (court fees, stamp duty)
No hidden costs
Legal fees are a common concern. We address this directly by providing a written client care letter with all anticipated costs before we begin. If anything changes that would affect the cost, we tell you immediately and wait for your agreement before continuing.

What Sets Us Apart
Things you will not find everywhere
Continuity of care
Unlike larger firms where files move between fee earners, at Amanat Law the solicitor who meets you at the outset is the same one who signs your will and files your probate application. This is not incidental — it is a deliberate part of how we work.
Multilingual consultations
Our team can consult in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Clients who are more comfortable in their first language will not be asked to navigate legal concepts in a language they find difficult.
Internal document review
Every will and probate document is reviewed by a second solicitor before it is finalised or submitted. This additional check reduces errors and gives you added confidence in what has been prepared on your behalf.
Flexible appointment times
Saturday morning consultations are available for clients who find weekday appointments difficult. We understand that estate planning often happens alongside busy working lives and family commitments.
